Client: Big Wheel

This sign is made mainly of steel. We explain below most of the steps it took to complete the project.

We welcome the chance to make custom signs of many materials and appreciate what can be learned from such projects.

1. We made ramp-like forms with patterns drawn with a plotter, and cut them with a jigsaw. Using our forms to create the bends in the bar, we were able to produce consistent curves to form the back of the sign.

2. The pieces that form the front of the sign needed curves in both top and front. After bending them using our first form, the notches were filled with the welder, and ground down. We then notched the bars in the front, hammered them into the second form, and repeated the welding and grinding process on these notches.
